Here’s an idea for those of you going on a “staycation” next week when the kids are home from school: have a Water Lily day. First, visit the MFA to take in Monet’s original masterpieces from 1907. The Museum is open 7 days a week–opens at 10. (Wed. – Fri. they are open late and admission is a voluntary contribution after 4 on Wednesday.) Children under 6 are always free, while 7 to 17-y.o.’s are free every day after 3pm, weekends, and Boston public holidays (Monday!).
Next, enjoy trying your own Water Lilies at home with our new Water Lilies Master Kit from Kidzaw, $29.95: ages 4 to 104. (Small parts; choking hazard for children under 3). If you keep your museum receipt and show it to us, we’ll give you 20% off the Water Lilies kit! The kit includes everything you and your kids need to make masterpieces of your own: reusable art box, 2 water lily stencils, 9 colored soft pastels, 2 pieces of art paper, a color blending tool, one shadow maker tool, illustrated Monet learning materials, easy-to-follow instructions. Check out the video below for a demonstration. Have fun!
